GAWDAWPALIN PAGODA - MYANMAR

Gawdawpalin Pagoda built in the 12th century by King Narapatisithu in Burmar style to resemble the Thatbyinnyu Temple. The structure is a bridge masonry with stone reinforcement. It is located just to the North of the present Archaeological Museum and one of the larger and most imposing of the Bagan's temples. The 60 meter pagoda was badly damaged in a 1975 earthquake but has been completely reconstructed.
