DHAMMAYANGYI PAGODA - MYANMAR

The Dhammayangyi (or Dhamma-yan-gyi) Pahto, extending approximately 255 feet on each of its four sides, is Bagan’s most massive shrine. From every direction, it looks like a pyramid. It was built by King Narathu of 1167 to 1170 AD. In the interior, radiating arch method is emploed using bricks. Therefore, the wall of the Pagoda was so strong that it can’t be pierced through by a needle. This great Pagoda is over 900 years old but not a single brick has been destroyed.
