ORSAY MUSEUM - FRANCE

It was built in the year 1900 by Victor Laloux as a railway station for the World Fair and continued in service until 1939. In 1986 the building was reopened as the Musee d'Orsay to exhibit the arts of the period 1848 to 1914, attempting to bridge the gap between the Louvre and the Pompidou collections.
