MUSTAIR BENEDICTINE CONVENT OF SAINT JOHN - SWITZERLAND

The Benedictine Convent of St. John at Müstair is the characteristic of Christian monastic renovation during the Carolingian period. This convent is located in a valley in the centre of Canton Grisons. It contains the greatest series of figurative murals in Switzerland, painted around 800 A.D., along with frescoes and stuccos from Romanesque times.
