IWO JIMA MEMORIAL - UNITED STATES


The Marine Corps War Memorial located in Washington D.C. honors the dead of the U.S. Marine Corps. With 32-foot-high figures and a 60-foot flag pole, a cloth flag flies 24 hours a day. The sculpture depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II which occured on the small island of Iwo Jima located south of Tokyo.
