LONG SƠN PAGODA - VIỆT NAM

The pagoda was first built on Mount Trại Thủy northwest of Nha Trang in 1886 . In 1900, the pagoda was damaged in a storm and was rebuilt down the mountain in its present location. The pagoda underwent further restorations in 1940, 1971, and 1975. This is the biggest pagoda in Khánh Ḥa, formerly the Branch of the Buddhist Institute of Central Vietnam. There is also a 14m red brass statue of Buddha sitting on a lotus pedestal. At the top of the hill behind the pagoda is a huge white Buddha statue seated on a lotus blossom which is visible from all around.
