CHÚC THÀNH PAGODA - VIỆT NAM
Chúc Thành was founded in 1454 by Minh Hải, a Buddhist monk from China, it is the oldest pagoda in Hội An.
The pagoda combines both Chinese and Vietnamese architectural styles .
Among the antique ritual objects still in use are several bells, a stone gong two centuries old
and a carp-shaped wooden gong said to be even older. Chúc Thành Pagoda was well known
because it was where the Thiên Chúc Thành chapter of the Lâm Tế Zen religion came into being.
