SEONUNSA - KOREA
Constructed in 577, the 24th year of King Wideok-wang of the Baekje
Kingdom, Seonunsa is said to have once been the largest in the
Jeolla area during the Goryeo Dynasty, even larger than Songgwang-sa and
Seonamsa Temples. Today a great variety of cultural relics are found here
about the surrounding woods. Above all, behind the temple is a camellia grove, which is dotted with
some 500-year-old and 6-meter-tall camellia trees.
